You've got to be kidspiration Me!

This week we learned about Kidspiration. We learned how to use this tool to help get the students ideas out of their minds and onto paper to help the student expand on their ideas.

What this means to me as a teacher is that I have one more arrow in my quiver. I get another asset to help me reach my students. It will be hard to reach all my students but with a product like Kidspiration, my job will be a little easier.

As a student not only will I be able to share knowledge in a more visible way but also my students can better access the knowledge they have between their ears. Imagine a student that has a hard time brainstorming how to write a story or a report. Using kidspiration that student can put their ideas out in a visible way and thus build off those ideas to make a better report.

I'm the type of person that if I'm shown a better, faster, more enjoyable way then I'm going to use it. Kidspiration is that better way. Of course this will change my approach in the class room. The tools that kidspiration offers can make my job as a teacher better. I know that my students will benefit from having a more clear way to view the information.

One of the reasons why we do this is because students learn in different ways and technology makes it possible to reach the students in more than just one way. By doing this more students have a better chance of success in the classroom.

using a product like Kidspiration will also make me a better colleague, I will be able to collaborate my skills with those of my teaching team and by using all of our assets we will become one Super Teacher. Much like when the power rangers hook up all their different machines to become a Mega-power ranger.

The idea being That I can create an assignment that will help teach part of the core curriculum and I will be able to share that with my colleagues. This passing of information back and forth will take some of the stress off myself and with me being less stressed my students will have a non-stress learning environment.

Watching the video makes you think that the U.S. needs to step it up when it comes to education. I think that our schools are doing okay but I would like to see them get better. That is one of the reasons that I would like to become a teacher. I want to help my students become successful world citizens.
