This week we learned about Web 2.0. Web 2.0 is a term that refers to web applications that help people interact on-line.
Web 2.0 applications are very useful to us as teachers. We can use these applications to share information with other teachers this will be very helpful because rather than having to have hard copies of things to share with other teachers we can use these applications and thus make our lives so much less stressful.
Future students will find Web 2.0 useful in the classroom as well. Collaborations on the internet mean that their is more information at the students fingertips than ever before. Social networking sites and video presentation will give the students more opportunities to learn.
This information will change me as a teacher because now I will have other teacher's lesson plans to view and use. It will be awesome because I then can mix in other teachers work with my own and thus save time making lesson plans.
Because I have this new information I will also become a better co-worker. I will be able to communicate with the other teachers more easily and thus share more knowledge. As we all know, "knowledge is Power."
In the end Web 2.0 makes a teachers life so much easier. It is a little hard to believe teachers were able to function before they had these web applications. Before a teacher had to to everything from scratch and on their own but now with all the wonderful things on-line a teacher can really focus on what is important and that is the students.
