Schools are great. They are places of learning and places of doing. Schools provide safe learning environments where a student can succeed. In an effort to do their job of protecting the students some schools have blocked some great tools. Mainly a great resource call YouTube. Teachers have no fear you can still show your students that great video that teachers that core curriculum. All you need to do is rip the video off-line and then use it in your classroom.
This is awesome because it gives the teacher the best of both worlds. This allows the teacher to protect the students from the many scary things online while still reaping the benefits of the internet. Teachers you need all the assets you can get your hands on. The internet is giant library; it's a place of shared learning. Being able to use these videos gives you as a teacher one more arrow for your quiver.
Students should also be excited about this exciting program. I'm sure they get tired of hearing the same lecture from the teacher. They can't wait to get some other form of stimulus. Being allowed to rip these videos and audio allows the students the benefits of learning from further than just one class. This makes the entire world their classroom and that make school fun.
This kind of changes things for me. I'm not just going to rely on myself. I know that I'll be a great teacher not because I know so much information but because I will be willing to teach from other avenues. Being able to burn videos will make my classroom more exciting and thus make me look more cool. And lets be honest that is the main goal. I want to be a cool teacher. All joking aside. This will really change things for me because it give me more opportunities and more teacher resources.
I'm super pumped to be a teacher. I really can't wait. I'm happy I'm learning all these cool things because I know that I'll need them.
Much love Mike
