This week we learned how to be like spiderman. Being a super hero is a lot easier than a person might think. When spiderman want to jump from building to building all he has to do is cast his web. When he want to trap a bad guy all he has to do is cast his web and when spider man wants to kiss his hot girlfriend upside down all he has to do is cast his web. Well when you want to be a super awesome teacher all you have to do is Vidcast and podcast. You just have to cast a video or an audio and Ka-Pow! you are now a super hero.

For all you people asking, "So What?" let me tell you. Podcasts and Vidcasts are the future. They are great ways to share information and help students to learn. Using this technology will make a lessons more exciting by being more interactive. Rather than a student just reading from a book or listening to the teacher lecture. The teacher can teach the students about the rain forest by using a vidcast or they can teach the students about how whales communicate by listening to a podcast of whale sounds. Really the possibilities are endless.

What this means for teachers is that teachers can collaborate material and thus help all the students under their care to learn. I know as a new teacher I will be overwhelmed and I would appreciate any help the more experienced teachers can offer. I will be turning to my colleagues for help and if through their experience they have found certain vidcasts or podcasts help then I would gladly use them in my own classroom.

My future students are going to love Podcasts and Vidcasts. The students will find working with this technology more engaging. Podcasts and Vidcasts give the students an opportunity to do out of the box assignments. I'm excited to share this knowledge with my future class. I can't wait to see where their young minds take this technology to next.

I was surprised to learn how many positive things come from having students blog. I mean it makes sense that writing help solidify ideas into students minds and thus using a blog to write would help cement concepts into the brains of my students. I also liked the idea that blogs bring out creativity and give ownership to the students. I want my students to be involved in their own education and I think that blogs would be a great asset for that.
