Hey! That's my work.

We talked to our cooperating teacher and we are going to be teaching our lessons about utah history. We our going to make our digital story introducing utah history. One idea I had for our digital story is to make a mock facebook account for famous people from Utah's past. I'm hoping that this idea can make social studies/ history more relevant and interesting.

One good reason for learning the digital story is because it would give me a leg up against the competition when it comes to applying for a position.

Although we are learning about digital stories this week we focused on cyber ethics, copyrights and creative commons.
This is a very important topic because it is relevant to todays classroom.

As a teacher I need to be able to teach my students to be ethical not only in the classroom but also in cyberspace. I believe that teaching ethics is a responsibility that a teacher holds and it is part of proper citizenship. Also a really cool thing we learned about was creative commons. Creative commons is a place you can go to make copyrights for your work. I thought that was pretty cool that we have something like that can protect everyone.

In the classroom students often work on projects that require them to do research. Students need to learn how to do proper research so that they don't plagiarize someone else's work. Learning about copyrights and cyber ethics will help protect students from getting in trouble.

My future students will be aware of is expected of them. They will know that plagiarizing is not allowed and they will know how to site where they got their information. My students will know about copyrights and why it is wrong to use other peoples work with out giving them credit. My students will have fun and we will have an awesome class.
