Lessons Learned

One of the biggest things that stood out to me is that American education is in competition with other countries around the world. Unfortunaly other countries have more people than us so our people need to be better. From the video Millennial Generation I learned what technology natives expect from their tools. The video was about students asking why their tech can’t do everything they want. Todays students want media mobility. I found it interesting how the natives are usually children, they know more about technology than their parents. Other things that I hope for is better technology in the future because I know it will change how we do things now.

From the article New WWW, it opened my eyes to the positives and negative of the internet. The author had some real concerns about how the internet can be to much distraction for students because there are too many options and no real learning. The author was advocation for a better internet but I disagree. We don't need a better internet we as teachers need to be better guides. As we teach our student to be mariners as they surf the web. Our student will become experts and they will be able to find the important and relevant information. Also I found Tools of Change, interesting for all the uses the author sees for technology in schools.

Another thing that I found interesting is the reason we should integrate technology into regular curriculum. Making technology available to be used in regular curriculum makes it possible for students learning to become deeper. Instead of using just part of their brain, students can now be totally engaged. My plan to become a better teacher is so that I can make better students, better employees, better businessmen and better citizens.
